Waitrose Sales Surge

As I work for Waitrose I always keep an eye out to see how we are doing, and according to the BBC and The Telegraph, rather well.

Sales at Waitrose were 41% up!

Waitrose enjoys sales surge as retailer prepare to unveil festive trading- Telegraph Online

This is in contrast to M&S who are closing stores.

I wonder if Waitrose will buy any of the closed stores

Darts

I wish I was at the World Championships in London, the atmosphere is amazing with Barney getting a 9 dart finish something that has never been done in the world championships, I think it will be a Taylor v Barney final but who will win I don’t know after that match id bet barny BUT Phil “The Power” Taylor is a very good player.

Sid Widel’s commentry was very amusing as usual, his reaction when barney got the 9 darter was worth listening to!

James Wade got through but the game was poor, both players scoring low scores and missing a lot of chances, he has no chance against Barney if he plays like that in semi’s, he got to get his first dart right and his doubles have got to improve.

Looking forward to the semi finals now.

Portsmouth Football Club - Freedom of the City

It was a while ago now but Portsmouth Football Club where awarded the freedom of the city of portsmouth for winning the FA Cup. I covered the event for Pugwash Online.

The Photos I took I have put on my photography website. I have got some rather good ones of Defoe in particular I really enjoyed the scrum of people trying to take photos, it was a freezing cold day but it was worth it.

Israel - Gaza Conflict

Just seen this on the BBC Website:

BBC News

A senior Hamas leader has been killed by an Israeli air strike on his home in the Gaza Strip, Hamas officials say.

Nizar Rayyan, the most senior Hamas figure to be killed since 2004, has urged suicide attacks against Israel.

News of the strike came on the sixth day of Israeli strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources say 391 people have been killed. Israel says it is trying to prevent militants from firing rockets into southern Israel.

Mr Rayyan is the most senior Hamas leader to be killed since the death of Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi in April 2004.

His death comes as the main UN agency operating in Gaza, Unwra, has resumed food deliveries, but warns of a dire humanitarian situation in the territory.”

I hope that the violence in gaza will stop now that the Israelis have killed someone important, as too many Innocent civlians are dying as well.

A New Year a New Blog

Hey, Happy New Year 2009!!

I have been meaning to redo my blog for a while now and I have finally done it, there has been so much I’ve wanted to blog about yet I have not had the means to do it.

My New Years Resolution is a simple one, to blog a lot more often, at least 3 times a week if not daily!

I wish you all a very happy 2009
