I am  Pugwash Online (Web Editor) for UPSU Media (Student’s Union). I also regularly contribute as a journalist, features writer and photographer for both Pugwash News, the award winning Pugwash Magazine and of course Pugwash Online.

My first taste of media was working on the East Hampshire District Council Magazine, Screaming Out Loud( Issue 10, Issue 9)

I am a keen Photographer and I have covered a large number of events such as an Anti War March in Portsmouth, I also covered Portsmouth Football Club being given the Freedom of the City for winning the FA Cup.

I am an active member of the student radio station PureFM, where I help with any technical problems, present shows and take photographs.

I have also covered two evenings of boxing (Pugwash Online Article) and taken photos at various events including sabbatical election results night, varsity, Societies Carnival and many more. These pictures and many more can be found on my photography website, Luke Simmonds Photography.

Computers are of great interest to me and I am learning new things all the time at University while studying for my degree. My passion for technology led to me forming my website NetworkTP and this Computer Support Forum I have also deveolped a lot of other websites and I am learning search engine optimisation and PHP.

I have worked for Waitrose since 2006, I started filling shelfs and I’m now a Security Checker and have taken on more responsibility including running my section on a regular basis and being sent to help open a new branch in Sandhurst.

Charity work also plays a big role in my life I have completed the Millennium Volunteers scheme with voluntary work with The King’s Arms Youth Project and with a project helping the elderly with computers. I continue to help at The King’s Arms on a weekly basis as I have done for many years.

In October 2008 I  joined the student arm of St John Ambulance at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Portsmouth Skydiving Club although I have yet to jump out of a plane!

I qualified as a First Aider in March 2009 and now go out on Duty with St John Ambulance.
